Holy SHIT!

As I went through my high school days in Denver, Colorado one of the most popular phrases was, "Peace in the Middle East." It was catchy, and signified that although we went to private school, we still had a globalized consciousness. Considering how LONG there have been tensions in that region in the world, we all felt that if peaceful coexistence could happen there, it could happen ANYWHERE. I think it's safe to say that all of our teachers promoted the idea that there was so much more in the world to think about than trivial matters- and it became an important part of our personal beings. I still believe that a peaceful solution there is important and NEEDS to happen soon.

But, let me say this. If the PM of Israel and all the various Palestinian factions sat down at a table in Egypt, hammered out a peace deal that would last an eternity, and Jews and Muslims could FINALLY live side by side without dodging Uzi bullets and suicide bombers, I would look them all square in the eye and say, "(yawn) So what! I've got more important news...."

THE ROCKIES ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!

Maybe when we sweep the Red Sox/Indian's ass we can get some respect from the national media. God forbid for ESPN to alter their “all football, all the time” broadcast to mention that the Rockies swept the NLDS. Do we really need more from Tom Jackson giving Tom Brady an audible BJ? He’s almost as bad as Ahmad Rashad was back in the Jordan days.

But you missed the party here Paz, get your ass back here and we can catch a game at a bar!

Jota- as SOON as I get the schedule for the home games, I'm booking a flight to the Mile High. I've been noticing all the disrespect too, I just hope we make them eat their words!

Slick- You have no idea how crazy it is that the Rocks are in there. They've been a doormat since '94 (minus 1 season before this one) so this is almost surreal. We'll see how they do against Cleveland/Boston but I have a feeling they're hot streak ain't up yet!

Ptoes- Trust me, this ride is wild even for me being in the land of the Braves. I've missed out on so much sleep staying up to watch these games! That catcher you're talking about always had butterfingers (I think his fro got in the way). Torrealba is much better than that cat was. :)

Yeah, like people are excited about baseball in October. I suppose you are though, since both the Falcons and the broncos suck royally without Vick and Elway, respectively.

Haha.

Wooz-
Honestly I wasn't excited until maybe a week and a half before the season ended. I saw that the Rocks had a slim chance to make it into the playoffs- but I'd be lying if I told you I expected them to get to the WS! The world may not be excited about it- but I sure as hell am!

^ He's got a point. I guess the Montreal Expos counted until 2004, and that piece o' shit Toronto team no one, even in Canada, cares about.

Kiyo- That sounds like jealousy to me man. I thought for sure that the New Jersey Turnpike Roadkills would make it to the playoffs this year!

Eye/Wooz- you do make a good point. Just call it good old fashioned American egocentric thought. Then again, the PLAYERS are from all over the world so it COULD count as an "international competition". I guess the term "National Series" doesn't have the same ring to it.

Dear Mr. Path,

As a long time friend, certainly you are aware that my interest in baseball doesn't go beyond the freshly roasted nuts that can only be obtained by sitting in one of those hard ass stadium seats!

Furthermore, in instances such as this, my inner "fair-weather fan" defaults to Chicago Teams Only.

So, after reviewing the point of your post...I would like you to only discuss baseball with me if the White Sox or the Cubs (may they overcome the curse) make it to the series.

Sincerely,

The Counz :)

So, last night did all Americans qualify for a FREE tacobell taco?

was at yoga...and so don't keep up on baseball. Woozie's right! After the players all got greedy and went on strike...people stopped giving a shit. The Jays won back to back series in 92 and 93 ( I remember clearly as my son was born in '92 and I bought him BlueJay "propoganda"...lol. Nobody was more in love with baseball then Canadians those years...then th strike... it hasn't recovered here.

Ok(okay)
BlueJay (bluejay)
Lets (lets)
Play (play)
BALL!!!
