The Weekend

AH, the best sounding phrase of the week. Don't get me wrong, I love my 3rd grade babies (keep repeating this to yourself as you read on) but they have been working my NERVES lately. I don't know if I'm getting too relaxed, just worn down or burnt (yes
B-U-R-N-T) out, but they have become the most worrisome class.

During the course of the day, this is the type of one-sided, repeated conversation I have with my kids- not necessarily in this order:

LeaveheraloneI'mhelpingsomeoneelseraiseyourhandpleasereturntoyourseatworryabout
yourself turnaroundstayinlinequietinthehallwayisthatyourconcern?gotothe restroomhangyourcoatuptalkquietlypleasedon'tbesorudeI'mtalkingtoanadultpleaseexcuseyourself

underethere?/inthehall?/atmytable?/atmydesk?/introuble?/intheoffice?/inhisface?/inmyconversation?/
annoyinghim?/botheringher?/writing100definitions?/intherestroomwithoutpermission? blah bla bl b...................

And this is the type of one sided conversation they have with me:

"Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!"
"Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!"
"Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!"
"Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!"
"Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!"
"Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!" "Mr. Rahmaan!"

I'm ready to change my name to something they can't pronounce like Abladadomereowad or Mdulgalmodomo so that they won't even bother calling me by my name- but would that really be fair? Hmmmmmmm.

Check this- I was talking to the school therapist (she's not really a THERAPIST - as in a shrink- she just gives psychological evaluations to students) and told her

"I need some therapy (as in a SHRINK) to see if I am truly crazy for putting my mental health in jeapordy everyday."

She said, "We have a school counselor for that."

I said, "NO, I need THER-A-PEEEEEE! I'm gonna stand here so you can see why!" I stood by her office as my class passed by us after eating lunch. She stood in the hallway and watched me take a hardcore barrage of 15 or so post-lunch comments and questions from my class about who said/did/looked/wanted/liked/quit/spit/used/ate/fell/licked/whatever...

THEN she looks at me and says, "They love you!" and walked away. I wanted to throw something and hit her in the back of her head in protest........but that would be unjustified, because she's right. And maybe that's why I am crazy.

Sorry you had such a terrible week-

Unfortunately or fortunately, on your new journey you will be looking forward to 24 hours of non-stop "luvin".
